Book Blast: Designated Bottoms

Book Name: Designated Bottoms

Author Name: Katey Hawthorne, Kiernan Kelly, Sean Michael, Julia Talbot, BA Tortuga, KC Wells, Shannon West

Author Bio:

Contributors

BA Tortuga: Texan to the bone and an unrepentant Daddy's Girl, BA Tortuga spends her days with her basset hounds, getting tattooed, texting her sisters, and eating Mexican food. When she's not doing that, she's writing. She spends her days off watching rodeo, knitting and surfing porn sites in the name of research. BA's personal saviors include her wife, Julia Talbot, her best friend, Sean Michael, and coffee. Lots of coffee. Really good coffee.

Having written everything from fist-fighting rednecks to hard-core cowboys to werewolves, BA does her damnedest to tell the stories of her heart, which was raised in Northeast Texas, but has responded to the call of the high desert mountains. With books ranging from hard-hitting GLBT romance, to fiery menages, to the most traditional of love stories, BA refuses to be pigeon- holed by anyone but the voices in her head. Find her at http://www.batortuga.com

Katey Hawthorne is an avid reader and writer of superpowered romance, even though the only degree she holds is in the history of art. (Or, possibly, because the only degree she holds is in the history of art.) Originally from the Appalachian foothills of West Virginia, she currently lives in Ohio. In her spare time she enjoys comic books, B-movies, loud music, Epiphones, and Bushmills. Find Katey at http://www.kateyhawthorne.com/

Julia Talbot lives in the great Southwest, where there is hot and cold running rodeo, cowboys, and everything from meat and potatoes to the best Tex-Mex.

A full time author, Julia has been published by Torquere Press, Ellora's Cave, and Changeling Press. She believes that everyone deserves a happy ending, so she writes about love without limits, where boys love boys, girls love girls, and boys and girls get together to get wild, especially when her crazy paranormal characters are involved. Find Julia at @juliatalbot on Twitter, or at http://www.juliatalbot.com

Sean Michael: Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and persuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."

A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.

Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.

Sean's available for interviews, by the way. He can always be talked into, well talking about himself. Find Sean at http://www.seanmichaelwrites.com

Shannon West: Shannon West currently lives in the South with her husband and family. A lover and avid reader of M/M romances, she began writing them a few years ago and now has over forty short stories, novellas, and novels to her credit. Her series about wolf shifters, the Dark Hollows Series and the sci fi series, Love Slaves of the Alphas, produced sixteen bestsellers with four of them going to number one on the third party sites. She was a finalist in the Rainbow awards for 2013, a nominee for best sci fi series in the Love Romances Café and very honored to be named an All Romance ebooks top ten author for 2013. She writes BDSM and some ménage as well. She loves men and everything about them, and believes that love is love, no matter the gender. She mostly spends her days at the keyboard, trying to elude housework, which stalks her relentlessly.

Kiernan Kelly: Kiernan Kelly lives in the wilds of the alligator-infested U.S. Southeast, slathered in SPF 45, drinking colorful tropical, hi-octane concoctions served by thong-clad cabana boys.

All right, the truth is that she spends her time locked in the dark recesses of her office, writing gay erotic romance while chained to a temperamental laptop, drinking coffee, and dreaming of thong-clad cabana boys.

To date, Kiernan has over a dozen novels in print and ebook, and a plethora of short stories in both formats.

KC Wells: Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C.Wells always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way.

K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, where the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings – writing about men in love was even hotter...

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career.

The laptop still has no idea of what hit it... it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

K.C. can be reached via email (k.c.wells@btinternet.com), on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/KCWellsWorld) or through comments at the K.C. Wells website (http://www.kcwellsworld.com) K.C. loves to hear from readers.

Blurb: So, what happens when you get a bunch of m/m writers together on a panel at a steamy little convention called Authors After Dark in Savannah?

In this case, we all sat around with the readers who came to our panel and chattered and laughed like idiots, and we talked about what we liked to read and write. There was a lot of smutty puns, and it was all fun and games until someone uttered the fateful phrase, “Right, and every story has to have a designated bottom.”

The writer and editor in me both went, “ooooh”. And I said, “Hey, does anyone want in on an anthology for next year with this theme?”

Enough of the writers at that panel, and a few who weren’t, said yes, and Designated Bottoms was born. When I sent out the call, this is what I said.

You’ve heard about Designated Drivers? Well, what about a Designated Bottom? The theme is open to all m/m stories where one man is a designated bottom boy, Whether self-imposed or by the Dom/lover/alpha of the pack or simply (either true or not) by society. Feel free to play with burly bottoms who surprise the deceptively sweet top, or with the too-smart kid who's the pushy bottom to end all bottoms. BDSM is fine, but not mandatory. A bottom may simply like to catch instead of pitch.

The stories I received delighted me. From a first-time cowboy and his new lover to a hardass Sergeant falling for a determined young soldier, from a hot gamer geek who doesn’t date to a sweet young thing on his first visit to a BDSM club, there’s something for everyone. There are princes and paupers, werekitties and strippers, and skinny twink-looking tops and big, gentle bottoms. They all left me fanning my hot cheeks and smiling at how the end result was two men in love, no matter how they got there.

The authors in Designated Bottoms have all reminded me why I fell in love with m/m as a genre damned near fifteen years ago, and of why I’m still writing, and publishing those stories today.

We’d like to dedicate this book to all the readers at Authors After Dark who thought this collection was a great idea, and to all the readers who keep us going every day by reading our books and letting us know they like them! I hope y’all love these stories as much as I do!

Some men are bottoms by birth, others by choice. Whatever the reason, a designated bottom is someone who’s happy to surrender, to submit, or just catch instead of pitch!

In Czech Me Out, by BA Tortuga, Korde discovers what it’s like to fall for someone when food truck owner Josh takes on the cowboy virgin. Katey Hawthorne’s gamer grad student Paul doesn’t date. He keeps things strictly physical. So why is Sammy so important to him in The Mistell? Kitty shifter and stripper Aleks doesn’t mix business with pleasure, but he thinks Rafe might just be the master for him in Julia Talbot’s Faster Bobcat.

Sean Michael’s Peter isn’t sure about the club his friend takes him to, especially when Doms start hitting on him. Experienced Dom Rupert is happy to help, explaining about that Little Square of Cloth. In Sgt. Hardass, by Shannon West, recent ex-Army man Jake meets up with a man he has history with, and Chad isn’t sure he can explain himself and defuse Jake’s anger. In the Prince of Paupers by Kiernan Kelly, Prince Liam and longtime friend Deacon have to go back to Deacon’s Appalachian home, much to the prince’s dismay. And in Switching It Up by KC Wells, Jay knows he looks like a twink, but only hunky Dean understands that looks can be seriously deceptive.

Excerpt:

From Czech Me Out by BA Tortuga

Josh had texted the fine cowboy as early as he felt comfortable doing it. He’d waited until nine. He figured it was gratifying that he got an immediate response.

“Noon?” he’d sent, and when he got an affirmative, he’d send his address. Then he set about making lunch.

He could tear that sweet body up, turn the Marlboro Man inside out and make Korde like it. He would soften the guy up with a few barbecue-filled potato skins... Barbecue, the redneck aphrodisiac.

Josh grinned. He’d swayed more than one hot little cowboy with his special sauce and some crispy potatoes. Of course, he’d never asked one to come to his house before, and certainly hadn’t gotten so interested so damned fast.

He’d never changed his sheets and made sure he was stocked with lube and rubbers, either. Not on a not-even-a-first-date. Lord. He was hopeful today, for sure.

Hopeful, horny and... oh, man, he needed an ‘h’ word...

The doorbell rang, saving him from having to be too creative. He told his cock to stay down for a bit and went to answer.

Frack and Frick were yapping their damn fool heads off, wagging and bouncing. Silly mutts. “Y’all get down.”

Josh opened the door a few inches. “You’re not afraid of dogs are you?”

“Not even a bit.” Korde leaned down and gave scritches, easy as pie.

Those two beagle-shepherd monstrosities went nuts, yodeling and wagging and begging.

Blurb(s):

Long winded, unemployed, and timid, on the first date Brendan Bloom is already in love. Comfortably arched over his body, Ryan contemplates murder. Cold, necklace gleaming against the pale tint of her collarbone, the passenger could have mercy. Not a little black book, but a faded love letter out from under the sheets. Some romances ignite on sight, others flare at the base of waterless tubs soaked in agitation. Rooted in the South, this collection of short stories delivers five electric confessions of love, sexuality, and identity across time.

Excerpt:

“You’re not asking someone studied—you know? I guess the rough kind of good. Like when you floss your teeth till your gums bleed. Hurts a bit, but the taste and feel are good to you.”

My first “real” talk came from you in 1992. I was fourteen sitting on the edge of my father’s leather recliner watching you cut the edges off a peanut butter sandwich. You didn’t have any tattoos back then. You had on this red sweater with blue stripes swishing through it. That pesky string of acne was still running down your right cheek when you offered me half of the sandwich.

“Anna. Why do you want to know about sex—from me?”

I wanted to tell you that the walls in my house had grown thin. Even with the stretches of screeching cars passing by and gargled whispers from the Mississippi River outside, I could hear everything tiptoeing inside. The high pitched turned guttural shrieks the women in my brother’s magazines evoked. The sound of the calluses on his hands attacking flesh like rubberized sandpaper; then, the wheezing attack followed by a hushed “guuu-ah” and tissues sopping up warm ooze. The late-night lullaby to my summers had changed, and I wanted to know the words.” –Excerpt from Intellectuals Are Fools

In the Spotlight: Nikka Michaels

Mile High Service

By Nikka Michaels

Genre: Erotic Romance, M/M

Length: Short Story, sequel to Room Service

Release Date: July 15, 2014

Publisher: Cobblestone Press

What is Cobblestone Press’ Blue Line?
The Blue short story line is erotica. For us, erotica is about the fulfillment of a sexual fantasy.  These stories are sexy, very graphic, and are by no means a “traditional romance”.

BLURB:

In this prequel to Room Service and Lip Service, Dr. Seth Coleman is bored and restless while he waits for his flight to leave. While waiting, he muses on how he met his husband Carson Randall.

Seth Coleman is a talented surgeon who has the career he’s worked toward his whole life but is still missing something. As he’s standing in an airport store contemplating buying a tie, he meets handsome stranger, Carson Randall. After sparks fly, they both realize they want the same thing. They want more than just a passing meeting in an airport; they want a relationship.

EXCERPT:

I turned to face the wall of ties, staring at our reflections in the small mirror in the middle of the display. I cursed the color that had risen in my cheeks from the stranger’s attention. When I licked my lips nervously, his gaze landed on my mouth, and he echoed my gesture. I took a deep breath, hoping for some kind of Zen state to keep from reacting to his proximity. There was nothing more awkward than an erection at an inopportune moment.

He moved close as he reached around my body, fingers deftly flipping up the stiff collar of my shirt. The heat from his body warmed my back, and the scent of spicy aftershave and clean male flooded my senses. My eyes blinked closed as my overactive and underused imagination paged through possible scenarios that could involve us in the same position, and my blood heated. What I wouldn’t give to have him buried inside me as I braced my hands against the wall. How long had it been since I’d had this feeling?

I opened my eyes and tried to steady my breathing as I heard him move behind me. He removed the tie from the box, unrolling it slowly, and carefully draped it around my neck. His arms closed around me again as he quickly and efficiently tied a Windsor knot. The stranger’s warm breath tickled the hair at the back of my neck as he moved, sending gooseflesh prickling over my skin. He tugged the tie’s knot sharply and adjusted the fabric so it dimpled and hung just right. As his thumbs brushed against the muscles of my chest through the fabric of my shirt, I pushed back a sound that threatened to escape my dry throat. The touch had to have been completely innocent, but it still made blood rush south.

He flipped the collar of my shirt down and adjusted the stays back in place, his movements practiced and precise. As the stranger straightened the tie one last time, color rose in my cheeks. This close to this attractive man, I wondered if he could feel how he affected me as he studied my face in the small mirror.

“See, it’s perfect. Calm. In control. Commanding. Simple. Authoritative. Sexy.” The last word was a low purr in my ear as I swallowed hard and closed my eyes. Who knew tie shopping was a form of foreplay? “It looks good on you.” He lowered his voice, his murmur seemingly meant for only my ears. “But it’d look better off of you.”

In the Spotlight: Tyler Robbins

I'm so happy to have Tyler Robbins on my blog today. I got to interview her a bit. :)

Tyler, please tell us what your latest book is about.

Broken Neon is about country music singer, Zane Alexander, who has struggled to keep his sexuality a secret. He soon finds this nearly impossible when it comes to his band’s new guitarist, Finn Presswood.

Finn, who’s on the run from a dangerous ex-lover, has secrets of his own, but his feelings for Zane isn’t one of them.

When the new song they co-wrote leads to a recording contract with a major Nashville label, it becomes clear that their lives are about to change. Unfortunately, secrets are harder to hide in the limelight, so Zane fake-dating a famous supermodel whose career is on the line as well, seems like the best solution for everyone.

Their dreams are finally within their grasp until Finn’s past catches up, and no matter how much the two men love each other, happiness is never guaranteed.

If good intentions pave the road to hell, then broken neon paves the road to Nashville.

What's the biggest challenge you got in writing, editing, and submitting this book?

My biggest problem for every book I write is making sure I keep the story straight. They say the devil is in the details and this is always true when it comes to timelines, keeping names and personalities straight and a slew of other minor details that could make or break a story.

Who is your inspiration in writing in general?

I’m often inspired by a real person or event. Sometimes it could be as simple as a song or a photo. For this story, it was a combination of a young and very sexy country singer named Steve Grand who is gay and doing a very fine job of fighting past the hurdles of prejudice and making a name for himself.

I also watch a little TV drama call Nashville, and they have a closeted gay singer on the program who has really captured my heart. His dramatized battle with himself and with the image the industry expects him to maintain made for a painful story line. It wasn’t hard to imagine what that would be like, and then one day Zane Alexander whispered in my ear and told me he had his own story to tell. The rest is history.

What is your favorite number? Why?

My favorite number is 4, because that’s how many children I have. J

Do you write full time? What's the best thing about it?

I do write full time. As a single mom it has allowed me to be home when my kids needed me most. My husband passed away suddenly in 2006 when our children were all under the age of fourteen.

If I had worked outside the home, I’m not sure my kids would have turned out as great as they are now. They needed me, and I put them first.

Of course, locking myself in the writing cave for hours on end meant they had to learn how to feed themselves, but that’s a good thing, right?

Broken Neon

Blurb:

Country music singer, Zane Alexander has struggled to keep his sexuality a secret, but hiding his attraction to their new guitarist, Finn Presswood, is damn near impossible.

On the run from a dangerous ex-lover, Finn has secrets of his own, but his feelings for Zane isn’t one of them.

When the new song they co-wrote leads to a recording contract with a major Nashville label, it becomes clear that their lives are about to change. Their dreams are finally within their grasp until Finn’s past catches up, and no matter how much the two men love each other, happiness is never guaranteed.

If good intentions pave the road to hell, then broken neon paves the road to Nashville.

Excerpt:

Finn’s lids lowered to half-mast and his nostrils flared. His cheek flamed red, and the emotion boiling under his skin became nearly tangible. “I don’t want you involved with this. I have to leave. If I don’t…” Finn clenched his jaw as his eyes glistened in the dark.

“If you don’t what?”

His breathing accelerated. The veins running up and down his neck stuck out, and his entire body tensed. “If I don’t, I’ll only bring you trouble. That’s what the Presswood boys do best. We bring trouble.”

Zane inched closer. “I can handle any kind of trouble you got.” He slid his hand up the side of Finn’s neck and cupped his jaw. “Trust me.” He moved slow, so slow he thought he might never taste Finn’s lips again as he cautiously leaned in for a kiss.

Finn didn’t back away. He stood frozen, his body hard and rigid with his jaw ticking adamantly. His body said no, but as Zane stared deep into his lover’s eyes, he could see the burn. The heat he’d felt so many times. The same yearning that Zane himself had been overwhelmed by the last few weeks. That fire only Finn could make him feel was right there, glaring back at him, begging to be stoked.

He paused centimeters from Finn’s lips, and inhaled his unmistakable scent. “For fuck’s sake, say it.”

Finn’s bottom lip quivered, and his crushed expression made Zane’s heart ache. “I love you.”

As the words left Finn’s mouth, Zane inhaled them as though they were oxygen. He pressed his lips to Zane’s, gently parted them, then ventured in, slow and sure until Finn sucked his tongue in further, kissing him in return.

Finn hugged him close, his head shifting from side to side as their tongues tangled and swirled. He lowered one hand to Zane’s crotch and rubbed up and down, exciting Zane even more.

His cock throbbed when Finn dipped his hand inside his jeans. He scrambled to unfasten them, allowing Finn to have his way.

Finn pulled Zane’s cock from his boxers and immediately lowered to his knees. Finn’s warm, wet mouth felt like heaven as he licked, slurped, and suckled the crown. As Finn was slip-sliding his tongue up and down the shaft, Zane’s heart pounded.

He eased down onto the sofa, careful not to create a void between his cock and the confines of Finn’s luscious mouth. That probably wouldn’t have happened anyway with the way Finn gripped Zane’s cock at the base.

Zane thrust himself upward forcing his cock deeper, scraping the back of Finn’s throat. He watched, enthralled with the care Finn took sucking him off. His technique had purpose, and his grunts and moans indicated he enjoyed pleasuring Zane as much as Zane enjoyed being pleasured.

He combed his fingers through his lover’s hair. “Look at me, baby.”

Finn’s gaze drifted upward with his cheeks hollowed out, his lips glistening with Zane’s juices, and sounds of their heavy breaths surrounded them.

“So fucking beautiful.”

Finn titled his head to the side, eyes still locked onto Zane’s, and he wrapped his tongue up the length of Zane’s shaft. When he reached the tip, Finn rose up, crawling higher until his lips met Zane’s.

The kiss was wet and sweet as Zane tasted his own pre-cum.

Their bodies mashed together as they writhed on the narrow sofa. “My room.”

“No.” Finn shook his head. “I want you here. Now.”

Christmas in July Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the “Christmas in July” Giveaway Hop

July 22nd to 31st

Oliver is hurt, cold, and alone. Derek is a surprise for him from God Himself.

But, will Oliver believe it?

A Boyfriend for Christmas Final Low Res

“Don't move!”

He froze. The voice behind his back sounded clipped, but not without a tinge of fear. He raised his hands a little to show—

“I said don't move!”

“Look. I just want to turn around, okay? I don't have a gun or anything with me.”

It took a beat before the voice spoke again.

“Fine.”

He moved around slowly until he faced the voice's owner, stared at the face not too far from his own, and offered a silent “Thank You” to the supervisor who sent him here—or rather, flown him, slid him through the chimney, and literally dumped him into this man's fireplace—the man who stood before him was fucking gorgeous, and sweet like no rainbow colored lollipops or bubbly melting chocolate he’d ever tasted.

He thanked his boss again, hushed, as his eyes roamed over the Adonis’ bare chest—he knew it was improper but what the heck. His eyes took in the freckled skin, resting briefly at the dismaying sight of a sling across the broad shoulder supporting a broken arm. That was when it registered on him that the man in front of him was a wreck: besides the arm sling, the poor guy’s other hand holding a gun pointed at him shook visibly, and his ankle was bandaged, too, but thankfully not in plaster. Once the brief once-over was over, the brazen intruder let his gaze trail back up to his involuntary host’s face and found a pair of lush lips pressed together into a thin line.

“Get out.”

About the Author:

Iyana lives in Jakarta, a city famous for its traffic jams, a lot of cars and motorcycles, and people selling stuff on the roads. You can spend two hours on the road going to a place you can reach in half an hour in a normal situation. Thanks to the traffic jams, though, Iyana can come up with a lot of stories, mostly shorties, as she prefers to spend the time during her trips writing into her cell phone rather than sleeping.

Blog Tour: Rise Up Vol. 2

“We all know how fragile life is, especially when faced with a life threatening illness.” ~Nic, Flirty and Dirty Book Blog.

Fiction introduced us. Reality binds us together.

Stephanie Thomas—co-founder of The Indie Bookshelf—has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma. Stephanie isn’t only a blogger; she’s a loving wife, and mother to three young boys.

In the independent author community, we have an extraordinary network of fellow authors, and readers. A special group of people who bridge this gap—helping authors connect with readers—is book bloggers. These men and women dedicate hours upon hours to reading and reviewing our works, and spreading the word to help us reach new readers.

Now, one of these women needs our help.

100% of the proceeds of the Rise Up anthology (volumes one and two) will go directly to Stephanie and her family to help them on this unexpected leg of their journey together.

Inside the pages of this collection, you’ll find amazing works of fiction. But please remember the reality, and help support Stephanie and her family.

Included in Volume Two of this collection are the following novels:

* 1. Always There - Carol Ann Albright-Eastman

* 2. Republic - Charles Sheehan-Miles

* 3. Seeds of Hate - Melissa Perea

* 4. In The Fields - Willow Aster

* 5. Bar Crawl - Andrea Randall

In the Spotlight: Raven McAllan

beinglucas1s

Being Luca's Raven McAllan

The premise for the book was very limited.

Using the name Leigh, Monteith, and Corrieri, because my hairdresser asked me to. Apart from that it was up to me. I knew what I wanted to write, but oh boy it wouldn't work for ages. I deleted the first two chapters, started with chapter three as chapter one, and all of a sudden, I wrote, and wrote, and finished a nice—well I hope so—Romance on the Go. Then I got worried that Leigh, the person, might not like Leigh the character. But she loved her, drooled over Luca and wanted to know when it was due to be published. Well I had to explain there was the none too small matter of subbing and getting an acceptance.

But chair swivel jiggle I got it…

This is the result…

What is a marriage without trust?

When damning newspaper reports point to the seeming infidelity of her husband, Formula One Racing Championship driver Luca Corrieri, Leigh runs without waiting for his explanations.

After all, the pictures don't lie. He has been cheating on her with her best friend.

Luca is devastated at the ease with which Leigh abandons what they have. Surely their marriage deserves more, but how do you convince someone of your innocence when they are not prepared to listen?

When the truth finally comes out, is their love strong enough to save their marriage?

Here's a wee tease…

She lay there in that pleasant state halfway between awake and asleep and relaxed.

The heavy hand on her shoulder made her scream, shoot up out of her chair, and turn around in a move to do any prima ballerina proud. Red wine went in every direction, except luckily, on her.

The guy who stood behind her chair didn't fare so well. With red wine dripping from his hair onto his face, and from his chin onto what seemed like a very costly silk shirt, he looked a mess. Even his expensive-looking trousers hadn't got off scot-free.

The expression made Leigh want to giggle—after all she was a Scot— although the guy standing there with a face like frost didn't.

"What a way to greet me, cara. Are you still feeling so pissy? After all you got what you wanted."

Leigh saw red and it wasn't just the spilled wine. All her introspective thoughts about being narrow minded flew out of her mind.

"Asshole. Fucking asshole. No, you got what you wanted. Your dick in that marriage wrecking groupie's cunt. What I wanted was your bollocks in a vise. And her clit to shrivel and her channel to shrink."

She couldn't believe the profanities that spewed out of her. Leigh always prided herself on not swearing, because as her mother had often said, it showed a lack of imagination and vocabulary. Right then she couldn't have cared less if it made her illiterate. The words fitted.

He reddened, took out a linen handkerchief, and wiped his face without saying a word.

Leigh was on a roll. In some perverse way she was enjoying herself. It was cathartic, saying just how she felt, to his face. "I hope you got yourself checked out, Luca? After all who knows who was in that pussy before you? Did you check the hair for nits? Oh no I forgot, she's probably one who dares to bare." She didn’t mention that since she and Luca had separated she'd tried that, liked it, and never gone back to hairy. "Best way really, less to catch anything in."

"You know nothing." He barked the words, looked around and then dropped the sodden handkerchief onto the table. "That's enough."

Leigh ignored him. "Not by a long chalk Signor Corrieri. Why are you here? How did you get in? Added breaking and entering to your list of transgressions now, have we?"

He swung a door key in front of her face. "No breaking necessary, cara. You left this in the door. Freudian slip? Or were you waiting for someone else?"

"Neither." She snatched the key from him and put it in her pocket. "I'm not the one who played away."

"Will this verbal crucifixion go on for ever?" Luca's voice was flat and unemotional. Only the tic at the corner of his eye showed how affected he was. "I screwed up, I admit it. I said sorry, what more do you want me to do? Bleed?"

"Well you screwed all right, and I guess it was up. Up into her. Bleeding isn’t enough. I've bled enough for both of us." Leigh bit back a sob. Luca lifted his arm toward her, took one look at her face and let it drop. She could only imagine what he'd seen there. However, if her emotions showed in her expression as usual, it would have been something along the lines of how she was wondering if she could commit murder and get away with it.

"You cheated, Luca. You defiled what we had. And that bitch crowed about it. In every bloody paper, before you said as much as a dicky bird. Were you hoping to get away with it? Fat chance with Angela, oh I'm your friend Leigh, bloody here's my cunt screw me whatsherface. Two faced bitch." All her thoughts of being open-minded, things aren't always what they seem, had gone from her mind. She was, in the words of her friend's daughter, 'in a mad'. "As for you, couldn't you have kept your cock in your trousers for one weekend? Was that too much to ask? And now I expect you're going to say it was all her doing. That she came on to you, and you were drunk and didn't know what was happening. Men. Think with their dicks." She turned her back on him and very deliberately filled her glass.

"No, I'm not going to say it was all her doing. It takes two to be f…"

"Okay I get your drift." Leigh sat back in her chair. "Oh sit down, Luca. Tell me why you're here and then go away. If you want some wine, in a glass and in your throat rather than over you, there are glasses in the cupboard next to the sink. If not speak up and then fuck off. I want to wallow and wonder why I'm so lacking in sexuality my husband needed a whore."

"You are so wrong, cara. But it's not my story to tell." Luca sighed, nodded and walked into the house. She heard cupboard doors open and close. Why hadn't she just told him to get lost? Taken her key and locked the door behind him?

Because we've never really talked about it.

Luca returned to the garden and poured wine into a glass before he sat next to her and swirled the liquid around the vessel.

"Good legs," he said.

She laughed, although there wasn't a lot of humor in it.

"Me or the wine?"

"Both, although in this case I meant the wine." He stretched his long legs out in front of him, and held his wine glass loosely between thumb and forefinger.

Leigh looked at him out of the corner of her eye. As ever during the race season there wasn't an ounce of fat on him, only honed and toned muscle. In any other circumstances she would have drooled.

"Ah well, I had a good teacher." By now Leigh had calmed down. Except for her unruly hormones which made her itch to undo his shirt and run her hands over those impressive abs and … down girl, this is your lying, cheating almost ex here. Or he was until she thought otherwise. The cuss-filled rant had done her good, but worn her out. "Okay, Luca, why are you here?"

"You're not going to like it," he said in a warning tone. "But I felt I had to warn you."

Warn her? That sounded ominous. Was there anything worse he could hit her with

"Tell me."

Hair july 14Raven Bio…

Well what can I say?

I'm growing old disgracefully and loving it.

Dh and I live on the edge of a Scottish forest, and rattle around in a house much too big for us.

Our kids have grown up and flown the nest, but roll back up when they want to take a deep breath and smell the daisies so to speak.

I write in my study, which overlooks the garden and the lane. I'm often seen procrastinating, by checking out the wild life, looking—only looking—at the ironing basket and assuring tourists that indeed, I'm not the bed and breakfast. That would mean cooking fried eggs without breaking the yolks, and disturbing the dust bunnies as they procreate under the beds. Not to be thought of.

Being able to do what I love, and knowing people get pleasure from my writing is fantastic. Long may it last.

that their torrid D/s relationship is wrong, but both also know that
they have found in the other a true partner not just erotically, but
intellectually as well.
Will their love survive the trials that

Can Sarah convince John that she knew what she was doing when she
entered his office even though wearing his collar wasn't in her
game-plan?

She had come there with the
expectation of having a little fun with him: there was nothing malicious in the
impulse, but her experiences with boys, especially with Fred, had left her
dissatisfied in a way that made her–and she knew this even as she for example
put her hand on his crotch–go against her own nature, and try to take control.
Really she did it just so someone would be in control, and it wouldn't just be
fumbling around and tentatively touching places that one thought were probably erogenous.
Her purpose was to enjoy that kind of control over this nice middle-aged man
from the East Coast, with his beautiful manners and his kind air and his
handsome face. She wanted to give him a blowjob, frankly, because she liked
driving Fred crazy that way and she wanted to do the same thing to Dr. Dunn.

The problem was at the same time she
realized she wanted more from him–wanted the aforesaid disclosures, closeness,
caresses–she also began to realize the power of this fast-growing attachment
was not just in what she had always thought of as the romantic realm. This
attachment had some other power, a power she had never actually felt, but
only–from time to time–imagined, and then, much more often, avoided thinking
about in any detail at all.

What was it? Well, for starters, it
was unfortunately the hottest, sexiest feeling she had ever had in her life,
and her loins responded as they never had to a real person before. The romantic
stuff was nice, and when Fred─and the two boys she dated seriously before
Fred–touched her breasts, and even put their hands in her panties, she very
much liked the sensation, and moistened at their touch–and one of the ones
before Fred had brought her to a climax once that way. Fred never had, and
she'd actually grown pretty adept at faking it, or at least at making him think
that it was time to take his hand out of her panties. But the problem now
confronting her was that what Dr. Dunn said–just his words, only touching her
chin–made her panties wetter than they had ever been in her life in the
presence of another person.

"High-School and College as an Anal Submissive"

Really not very hot. Very few boyfriends;
no penetration until late senior year. Lots of reading, lots of self-abuse.

The narrative mechanics of
fantasy-Emily's life in EXPLORATIONS shorten this period to a few months: my
conceit there is that fantasy-Emily was an anal-submissive powder-keg that
finally went off a few months before her wedding to fantasy-Charles; that she'd
had the fantasies, and masturbated to them, but that she had never come across
erotic material (ha!) until she caught her first glimpse of a lace thong in a
Victoria's Secret window. That thong produced, for fantasy-Emily, I elaborate
in
Emily's First Submission, a sort of pornographic cascade effect.

Here--I'll let her tell you in her own
words.

I don't know how
I managed to avoid seeing things like my bridal panties until I was 18; all I
know is that suddenly the world seemed to be full of all these pictures, and
pieces of clothing, and websites, and books that corresponded to the shameful
things I'd imagined in my bed at night and sometimes (for I'd been told that
touching myself was wicked) couldn't resist playing with my young, virginal
pussy while I thought about, and even putting a hand under my bottom and
touching my bottomhole.

After the thong
came the porn: lots of it. And then, finally, Story of O. I had thrown all the moral lessons of my first eighteen
years to the wind; I was masturbating anally four or five times a day or more;
I ordered a butt-plug; I seduced my best friend and shaved her pussy; and
that's how I got into the shameful situation in which you see me at the start
of Emily's Submissive Wedding Night, abusing
myself in the bathroom of my honeymoon suite when I should have been going to
please my bridegroom. Thank goodness
for Charles and his dominance and willingness to discipline me!

Not strictly believable, I suppose, but
given that so many of my D/s fantasies revolve around innocence, and there's so
little innocence left in the world today, it works for me.

This (high-school and most of college)
was the epoch when the terrible books, as I think of them, the ones like
Aphrodizzia,
dominated my fantasy-life. So, as a passage in one of those books literally
(I'm pretty sure) reads, "Bottom, bottom, bottom, bottom" (if I
recall correctly, some authority figure is landing cuts of a cane on, you
guessed it, a schoolgirl bottom).

More than 600 miles separated Drew and Zach, but on Halloween, Zach came to Drew and left again, just like that.

Separated by more than 600 miles, Zach and Drew were forced to keep in touch through phone, email, and Skype. As Drew showered for one of their "dates," he wasn't alone. Imagine his surprise when he discovers Zach's car crashed, leaving him in a coma. Who was it that joined him in the shower, then? Would he have a chance to be with Zach again?

Excerpt

"Zach..." He closed his eyes, snaked his arms up, and wrapped them around Zach's neck. Zach nuzzled into Drew's armpit, kissed his nipple, and bit it lightly, eliciting a deep growl from Drew's throat.

"Christ, you're so hot. I want you so much." Zach's hand slithered down and took Drew's length and slowly stroked it up and down. Drew threw his head back to rest on Zach's shoulder, moaning and gasping as the orgasm built in his cock. His hands ran through Zach's hair, grasping it, taking Zach's face down to his own, seeking out Zach's lips and kissing them.

"I want you too," Drew said, breathing into Zach's mouth. "I want you inside me. Please." He took Zach's hands, sniffing, licking them, tasting himself there, and he got harder. Zach kissed him more intensely, their tongues dueling inside as if wanting to melt them into one. Zach pressed his hard-on against Drew, who mewled wantonly and began to rub himself shamelessly. "Yes, oh yes. Like that, Zach."

To Drew's dismay, though, Zach seemed to fade until what was holding Drew was merely a wet trail of shadows. A whisper breathed in Drew's ear, "Later." Zach was gone.

Blurb(s):

Cole Harker, son of an alpha werewolf, is bigger and more powerful than most wolves, tongue-tied in groups, and gay. For twenty-four years, he’s lived to please his family and pack—even letting them promise him in marriage to female werewolf Analiese to secure a pack alliance and help save them from a powerful gangster who wants their land. Then Cole meets Analiese’s half-brother, panther shifter Paris Marketo, and for the first time, Cole wants something for himself.

When Analiese runs off to marry a human, Cole finally has a chance with Paris, but the solitary cat rejects him, the pack, and everything it represents. Then Cole discovers the gangster wants Paris too and won’t rest until he has him. What started as a land dispute turns into World War Wolf! But the bigger fight is the battle between cats and dogs.

Excerpt:

Cole took hold of a branch a few feet from Paris. “Do you think the alliance will stand?” He shrugged. “Hard to say. I know everyone hopes so, so I hope so too.” Cole pulled his eyebrows together. “But you don’t really care.”

Paris looked up sharply. “Yes, I care. I care about my parents. They’ve been good to me and I owe them a lot. I’m a freak by wolf standards, and my father has never abjured me. I honestly believe he kept me separate for my well-being more than his own. He acknowledges me as his son even though I remind him of his greatest sorrow.”

“Your panther mother.” He nodded. “And Trixie isn’t a brave female. My existence is difficult for her, but she’s been nothing but good to me. She had to stand against the combined disapproval of a lot of other females for me. They didn’t know what I was, but they knew I was Merced’s first wife’s son. They weren’t kind. She was. I value her and want the best.”

Cole nodded. If there was one thing he understood, it was loyalty.

“And then there’s you.”

Cole glanced up. Look at that mischievous face. He’d switched from deeply serious to court jester in one second flat. “What about me?” He grinned.

The cat danced around his tree, unfastening buttons on his shirt with intricate skill. “You want the alliance and I want you. Isn’t that an Aristotelian principle? If A equals B and B equals C, then Paris wants Cole to have his alliance so Paris can have Cole’s big yummy cock in his ass. An ass, I might add, that’s been throbbing like a voodoo drum since I first looked in your silver eyes, wolfman.” He whipped off the shirt, leaving his upper body bare.

Wow. Even knowing what was coming, that sight was hard to believe. The cat’s skin glowed in the moonlight like so much alabaster formed into a work of art. If you liked bulky, you wouldn’t like Paris. But if the look of a black leopard stealing along a branch stilled your heart, this sight would do it for you down to the ground. Not really slim. More like lean, with muscles just where they should be, but as if they were made of silk rather than stone. Fluid.

Paris reached and grabbed a branch, then pulled himself up one-armed until he leaned over the wood on his belly. Flip. He circled and came up to sitting, his upper body glowing and long legs dangling. He spread his arms out for a second as if balancing on a tightrope. Then he reached in and started to unfasten his belt. Slowly, he slipped it from his trousers, then swung it over his head until it caught on an upper branch.

He pulled himself to standing and used one hand to slowly lower his fly. White showed in the gap. Oh my. Not white underwear. White skin. Cole shuddered. He wasn’t used to this kind of sexy. Hell, who was? This cat was one of a kind.

In the Spotlight: Elodie Parkes

Thank you for inviting me to the blog today to talk about my new release with Hot Ink Press, ‘The Black Lion’.

The story is a short, (15,900). It’s erotic, paranormal romance, featuring both shifters and vampires and releases July 16.

The idea for the story came to me on one of my work trips when I passed a spooky old hotel place with a sign hanging outside like one of those old Highwayman type inns. The words, ‘The Black Lion’ were written on the sign, but there was no picture, and the place itself could have been anything. Paint peeled off the big door and there were no lights on inside, even though it was twilight and quite dark because of the rainy weather.

In the story, I describe the doors, but the peeling paint becomes old posters for bands that have played in my version of a club, ‘The Black Lion.’

The title is also a pun on the nature of one of the characters.

Blurb:

When Melissa fleetingly meets Sascha in a nightclub, she hopes he will approach her.

Sascha has secrets and it’s a long time since there was a woman in his life.

Unknown to both of them someone watches jealously.

Will this jealousy stop the budding romance between two people who both have something to hide?

An erotic, paranormal romance, full of surprises.

Read an excerpt:

Sascha gazed at the young woman, whose name, Melissa, he’d stored away like a precious jewel. He memorized the heart shaped face, the big green eyes, the dimple in her right cheek. He moistened his top lip with the tip of his tongue as he considered her mouth. That bottom lip needs sucking. I’d love to hold her close, just feel her warmth against me. I’d like more…I bet her hair feels like silk. He sighed as his gaze traced the length of her glossy chestnut hair. It fell around her shoulders and down her back. Sascha longed to grasp a handful, pull her close, and kiss her. He imagined it. His cock hardened as he recalled her scent when she stood in front of him. He thought about her look in the mirror. She was interested in him. It was obvious, and his own ineptitude was why he stood staring down at her, instead of grasping her to his naked form, fucking her hard. I could have compelled her. I could have tasted her cream, pushed my fingers into it, slid them over her clit. I could have licked her lips, her breasts. I could have her hands wrapped around my cock. I could have her writhing under me, coming, and driving me insane with her softness. I could give her so much love…

His thoughts were suddenly invaded by a low voice to his left.

“She’s not for you, brother. I see your scrutiny. I saw her first.”

Sascha prickled with anger at the voice and himself for not hearing the approach, nor scenting this man who leaned casually against the barrier. His fury burned in his chest and he whispered dangerously. “Who the hell are you?”
