Hop Against Homophobia and Transphobia

May 17 is The International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. Honestly, I have no idea how to commemorate this day here in my country. It's still hard for LGBT people to live openly the way they are. We know we have them around us but not many of them already come out. I don't think a friend of mine and a colleague have. Only the closest people know about them. I wouldn't have known that my BFF was gay if he hadn't told me. I was, and am, so happy that he trusted me with the knowledge.

As an M/M writer myself, I'm still somehow in the closet. In my family only my sister knows, and out there? Just two more people know what kind of stories I'm writing, my friend and a colleague. I haven't thought of trusting more people for this. Another colleague, a writer, too, once said she totally wouldn't read the work of someone after she found out that this writer was gay. How am I supposed to tell her what I'm writing with that kind of attitude? People always use religions when talking about this issue. I myself don't care if it's against religions or not. It's someone else's life, why should I care with it? And more, why should I hate them?

For this blog hop, I offer a copy of my e-book. Please leave a comment and your email address.

Thank you.

  7. I'm female in a long term relationship with my male partner of 17 years. I love to read M/M books if anyone asks me what i'm reading I tell them. I don't care if the author is Male or Female. If I enjoy a book I say so. I don't like everything I read but because I have different tastes to others. We are not all the same.
No one should have to hide what they read or what they write or even who they love.
There are biggots and haters everywhere. Its wrong but it is life.
    I enjoyed reading your blog.

  9. "I wouldn't have known that my BFF was gay if he hadn't told me. I was, and am, so happy that he trusted me with the knowledge." It's good to know about that your BFF trusts you so much. May your friendship grow stronger with time.

  11. I'm also a closeted writer. Only my parents know what I write it's not because I'm ashamed at all, but because I worry what my little town's folks would do to my family. Hope the world will someday be a better place.
