Cover Reveal: Will and Pleasure

Coming June 22, 2014

JMS Books

Blurb (unedited)

Unlike his brothers, Jake Welther preferred to stay with his mother when his parents got divorced. So he was surprised when he was called to attend the reading of the will upon his father's death. Jake never thought he’d get anything from the will. As it turns out, Jake's father left his four sons not the house or the money but a young man named Luke.

A male prostitute Luke thought things wouldn't go so bad until one unfortunate night an encounter with a client ended with him curled up in an alley filthy and caked with things he’d rather not think about. A man came to help him, but there was no way Luke could know that the man he knew later as Craig Welther, Sr. was worse than any of his clients.

Authors in Bloom Blog Hop

Welcome to Authors in Bloom Blog Hop! Thank you, Dianne Vennetta, for organizing it.

So, in this hop, we're supposed to give gardening tips or recipes. Well, I'm not really good in gardening. I, like what people say, don't have a green thumb. I've never really been successful every time I plant something. The best I did was probably when I planted my bougainvillea (or Kembang Kertas in my native language). It wasn't very leafy but at least I got to have some flowers. :D

As for some gardening tips, I just got one from a friend. She said to make our plants grow well, I could mix something in the fertilizers, such as the used tea from the tea bag, coffee, leftover food (the spoiled one is okay), seasonings, even tablets or medicine. They will make your plants grow more leaves and flowers. I haven't tried it myself but several other friends agree to that.

Hope it can be useful for you!

Now this story of mine has no gardening in it but it's domestic enough and I hope the men in the story will do it soon. :)

BLURB:
Jesse Gray can’t get more unlucky. His roommate left him and he gets kicked out when he can’t afford the rent. Next, the owner of the fast food joint where he works part-time suddenly tells him he no longer works there. Jesse still has a job as a PA on a movie set but the pay will never be enough to afford even the cheapest room in Hollywood. There’s only one place left to stay the night -- in the park.

Trey Miller is the star on a TV series where Jesse works. They bump into each other one night while leaving the set, and Trey thinks Jesse is much too good-looking to only be a PA. When he learns of Jesse’s financial condition, he offers a place to stay at his house. Having no other options, Jesse reluctantly accepts the offer, but what’s the catch?

Mid Week Tease: A Home for Jesse

I'm so glad to join this week's Mid Week Tease with my new release, A Home for Jesse. It is available on the retailers this week and I'd love it if you try it out. :)

Oh God.

“Jesse?” Trey chokes.

At the sound of his name, Jesse jolts to a sitting position and drags himself back towards the wall behind him.

Trey winces at the sight of Jesse, the wounds and bruises. Both his eyes are swollen shut and there are dark bruises plastered all over his face, cuts on his forehead, some of which are still oozing blood—the same goes for his split lips. Jesse’s scrunching down, hands over his middle, and Trey can imagine what he will find there if he looked at it—more bruises probably, perhaps even some broken ribs? Trey kneels down beside Jesse, his headache completely forgotten.

“What the hell happened to you?” He tentatively puts his hand on Jesse’s shoulder. Jesse stills, shaking his head.

“Go. Just go. Please.”

New Release: A Home for Jesse

A Home for Jesse
by Iyana Jenna
Published by JMS Books
Length: 19,909 words

EXCERPT:
Note: may contain sexually explicit scenes of a homoerotic nature.
This ain’t so bad. Jesse pats his laden backpack. He stretches himself on the bench and lowers his head onto the bag, grimacing at the bumps pressing against his head and neck. Awesome. He is going to have major cricks and headaches come morning. That is if he’s not suffering from early signs of pneumonia.

Jesse shifts and grunts and finally gives up. He sits up, takes off his jacket, and spreads it over his front before he lies down again. Moving a bit again to find the most comfortable position, he thinks,Fuck, now my shorts are stuck in the crack of my ass. Jesse reaches down and pulls them free -- ah, that’s better.

He takes a deep breath. So he’s a bum now, is he? His ma would be heartbroken if she knew. She could blame him for being such a hard head and insisting on having his own way. Jesse stares blankly at the leaves swaying on treetops, at the shadows of the swings dancing in the dark, at the stars blinking mockingly down at him. At least the fact that they are up there means that the sky is cloudless and Jesse doesn’t need to worry about the possibility of rain tonight. Getting soaked when the only place he has to sleep is this park would be a pain in the ass, not to mention hazardous to his health. Jesse also hopes no cops will come patrolling tonight.

Weary to the bone, Jesse curls both hands under the side of his face and gives in to slumber.

    * * * *

“Come on, Trey, one more glass. Don’t be a spoilsport.”

Whatone more glass means for Brent must be different from what it means for Trey. They have been here for hours. Trey had sneaked a glance at his watch once. It showed four -- and that must have been half an hour ago. Still there is no sign they are leaving soon.

Trey regrets his decision not to drive his own car and ride with Brent instead. Fuck. He’s going to screw up his shot big time tomorrow -- or rather, this afternoon.

“What celebration am I spoiling again?” Trey leans forward. Brent looks taken aback but he immediately offers a smile, which looks more like a snake’s sneer.

“Trey, that’s not nice.” He wags his forefinger.

“The hell with nice.” Trey rests his head on his folded arms on the table. “I’d rather be with Jess --”

Oops. He slipped up and said it out loud.

Brent and the others sitting around the table seem to come to a consensus to stop whatever they are doing and switch their attention to Trey.

“Jess? Jess who?” Brent asks. “I thought you were with Kimberly.”

Trey feels blood rush into his face but he sighs inwardly in relief that Brent doesn’t know who he was talking about.

“Kimberly? Right. And you said she’d be here! Where is she, Brenton?”

Brent visibly cringes at the name and Trey feels like guffawing. Eat that, asshat!

    “My name’s not Brenton.”

“So what? You haven’t answered my question.”

And neither has Trey, but Brent has forgotten about that. Trey gulps down his drink, and tries to shut down from everything going on around him.

Mid Week Tease: A Home for Jesse

Ooh, I'm a bit late for Mid Week Tease! I hope it's okay. Thank you, Sandra Bunino, for organizing the weekly hop. I can't wait to visit other bloggers. You should do, too! Please check out this list to go to other blogs!

For this week, I share with you an excerpt from my upcoming release from JMS Books, A Home for Jesse, an m/m romance.

Trey gets out of his car and slowly closes the door behind him. Jason—who was he kidding? Those sleepy green eyes, curled lips—Trey has been aware of them since the first day he laid eyes on Jesse. Luckily, he has a habit of keeping track of the birthdays of everyone in the set. A little stretch when it comes to Jesse will not make anyone suspicious. So far he has found out: Jesse’s name, of course, his birthday, where he comes from, what he likes (chocolate and strawberry), and the fact that he’s too pretty to be an extra
Trey sighs and tosses the car keys on the kitchen table. He can lie and tell himself that he saw something in Jesse’s eyes when he greeted him just now. Jesse always seems serious and reserved and only changes when he is immersed in his role, whether he’s playing a clerk in Farmer’s Market or a customer in the diner. Trey can tell when Jesse’s acting—not that he always pays attention to the man. Oh no, not at all. It’s Jesse, really, who keeps stealing glances at him, but then how would he know if he didn’t—
Jesus.
Trey slides down the wall, throwing his head back, letting it go thud. His hand roams over his chest and his eyes squeeze shut.
Oh, Jesse,” he moans. “Jess…” He rolls the name on his tongue, liking the feel of it. “Jesse. Jess. Jessie.”
His hand travels south and soon it finds the heart of his pleasure. Trey’s eyes roll up, he whimpers behind clamped lips—his hand gets more and more frantic, when suddenly…

Hope you like it! ♥

Seductive Sirens and Studs: Misunderstandings

Welcome, everyone, to this week's Seductive Studs and Sirens Blog Hop. Today I present you an excerpt from my latest release, Misuderstandings, from JMS Books. Don't forget to check out other excerpts from amazing authors on this blog hop!

Excerpt:

“Put these to better use,” Declan growled, shaking Parker’s forearms a little; the huskiness of his voice sent shivers down Parker’s spine, making his groin twitch.

“Declan,” Parker whimpered, attempting to twist his wrists away from the prison of Declan’s fingers, to no avail. Oh, this wasn’t good. Parker was grateful to be in the water so no one would notice if he burst off right then and there.

Thankfully Declan seemed to sense Parker’s predicament. He hauled him off the water.

“To the room. Now.” There was that growl again. Parker shivered.

Mid Week Tease: Misunderstandings

Thank you so much, Sandra Bunino, for hosting this event every week!

Welcome to my Mid Week Tease, and this week I'm going to share with you an excerpt from my newest release, Misunderstandings, from JMS Books. It's a M/M contemporary romance, and here is the blurb:

Being insecure isn’t good for Parker Williams’ image as an indie movie actor, but he can’t help it. He seems to forget that he snatched an Oscar from the one hit movie he made, and he keeps comparing himself with the success of his boyfriend Declan, who is a blockbuster star. Things get worse when Parker sees how close Declan is to his sexy costar, Ryan Dexter.

Parker thinks he’s no match for Ryan and leaves without confronting Declan. When he disappears, a worried Declan tries to contact him without result. Then he finds Parker’s cell phone, left behind at the house, and Declan doesn’t know what to do. Should he let Parker go and turn to Ryan for comfort? Is his relationship with Ryan only onscreen, or is there something more between the two leading men? Or is Parker really the star of Declan's heart?

Excerpt:

Parker carefully positioned the box in the middle of the bed as if it were some kind of a precious treasure. Stepping back, tipping his head sideways, he gazed contemplatively at the box.

He had no clue as to what had made him think of buying this box of chocolates. At that moment Parker thought it would be a great idea to send it to Declan.

But now he wasn't so certain anymore.

What would be the meaning of the gift? How would Declan feel, receiving this? What would he think when he had it in his hands?

Sitting down on the bed, gaze on the deluxe pack with images of luscious-looking chocolates on it, Parker was bickering with himself. He wasn’t the one who should apologize (that was the message behind this gift, wasn’t it?). Declan was the one who cheated. Thus, he had to make the first move.

Yet, his heart reminded Parker that he’d turned away from Declan without giving him a chance to talk. Ryan coming to Declan’s house that night might not have meant anything. Parker shouldn’t not have fretted about the zealous way Ryan greeted Declan. Ryan had always been like that, hadn’t he?

The point wasn't who should ask for an apology. He who humbles himself before others, would emerge a noble man, was that not what the proverb said?

Parker drew out a blank card and a pen he'd bought from the hotel's souvenir shop. All right, so he would send the chocolates after all. The only question remaining was what he should write in the card. What did he actually want to say to Declan?

Would that be ...

I miss you. No. What if Declan never even thought twice about Parker’s leaving and had forgotten that he existed?

How about ...

I trust you.

No ... Parker just couldn’t write it. There were so many questions he wanted Declan to answer. It saddened Parker, though, to think that he couldn’t give his absolute trust to his lover.

I’m sorry.

Parker still thought he might’ve made a mistake leaving Declan like that. But -- he wasn’t the one cheating. He could never cheat on his boyfriend. He loved Declan too much. So ...

I love you. Yes. Parker was simply expressing his feelings and Declan was under no obligation to love him back. But would that statement sound like a pathetic plea?

Parker sighed dejectedly. Perhaps he should simply abandon this idea altogether. If only Declan would call him. Had Declan really thought things settled between them?

New Releases and Release Party

I almost can't believe it. I think I will have two releases this week. One is with Leap of Faith Publishing, the other JMS Books. For them I will have a release party that will be held on November 17, 2013. I planned it only for A Single Black Rose, initially, but I think it will be great also to include the release of A Boyfriend for Christmas. The party will be held on my fan page, Books by Iyana Jenna.

Blurb:

Cold, injured, and afraid his ex-boyfriend would come find him, Oliver chose to run away from the hospital and hid in his cabin on Christmas Day this year. Little did he know that Santa Claus and the Big Boss would drop a surprise for him through his fireplace. The surprise's name was Derek.

Blurb:

When actor Sean O’Reilly receives a flower bouquet containing a single black rose on set, he assumes they’re from his boyfriend Nate. But they aren’t. Flowers keep arriving for him after that, each with a black rose in the arrangement. Soon other things arrive as well, such as photos and a recording of Sean’s voice. As the number of flowers dwindle with each bouquet, Sean begins to worry they’re supposed to be some kind of a countdown ... but to what?

Fan Gene Scott worships Sean. He maintains a blog dedicated to the actor and writes out all his fantasies there. He wants Sean to belong to him, and only him, and he’ll do anything to make the actor his own. He can’t accept the fact that Sean has a boyfriend. To Gene, Nate might as well not exist.

Despite increased security and all efforts to keep him safe, Sean vanishes, and Nate feels as if his world has come tumbling down. When the police response is too slow for him, Nate enlists the help of his producer and bodyguard to find Sean. Will he manage to find his lover before Sean disappears forever? Or will Gene finally get what he’s always dreamed of, and make Sean the love of his life, instead?
