April Autism Blog Hop

I feel honored to join RJ Scott's April Autism Blog Hop. April 2, 2014, is the seventh annual World Autism Awareness Day and RJ Scott invited authors and bloggers to share with you all something to do with children, special needs, and something in that theme.

RJ also asked us to share a fact about autism for each of us.
Some people with autism might not speak or have fairly limited speech. They may understand what people say to them but prefer to use alternative forms of communication, such as sign language.

I don't have personal experiences in my own family about autism, but having knowledge of it is very important to me as I teach children in an English language school. The training we had to take before we taught classes included child psychology and children with special needs, including autism.

In this occasion I would also like to share with you an experience of one of my colleagues, Dyah Puspita. Dyah was an English teacher, too, and a psychologist. But she stopped teaching in the institution where I work to concentrate on her own school for children with special needs. Her son, Ikhsan, is autistic, and they had to go through such a hard time in the past. She has a blog HERE where she writes mostly about her son, but it's in my native language. She also wrote two books about her experience, also in Indonesian language. HERE is her Goodreads page.

Thank you for reading and now you're invited for a giveaway. Please enter the Rafflecopter below to win the prizes.

Seductive Studs and Sirens: What Lies Beneath

Jarrett grabs Dylan and presses their mouths together. He feels Dylan’s hand at the back of his head to keep him in place, but Jarrett doesn’t mind that a bit. He doesn’t want to get away. Dylan’s lips are hard and unyielding and soon take control. It’s just what Jarrett needs.
Jarrett yelps a little when Dylan’s arm snakes around his waist and jerks him close, making him tilt on his tiptoes, and Dylan grinds their crotches together.
“Think of your place,” Dylan whispers into Jarrett’s mouth.
“What?”
Dylan doesn’t answer, just keeps kissing him, so Jarrett lets his mind wander to his house, his bedroom, feeling both of Dylan’s arms around him now, and ZAP!
Dylan lets him go, and Jarrett bounces back onto... his bed? Jarrett twists around and props up on his elbows.
“The fuck -- Dylan, what’s going on?”
Looming over him, Dylan only grins. “Shut up and take off your clothes.”
Jarrett squints, but wordlessly he complies. He never takes his eyes off Dylan as he undresses himself, watching Dylan’s eyes darken with desire. He’s startled when Jarrett tugs at the waist of his jeans.
“Take them off,” Jarrett says as he keeps pulling, and he unzips his own pants and begins to push them down.
“All right, all right.” Dylan hops off the bed and gets out of both his shirt and jeans in record time. He kicks off his shoes and jumps up back onto the bed where Jarrett is waiting for him.

*grins*

What do you think, guys? It's taken from my newest release, What Lies Beneath, published by Torquere Press.

Things get worse when Parker sees how close Declan is to his sexy costar, Ryan Dexter.

Parker thinks he’s no match for Ryan and leaves without confronting Declan. When he disappears, a worried Declan tries to contact him without result. Then he finds Parker’s cell phone, left behind at the house, and Declan doesn’t know what to do. Should he let Parker go and turn to Ryan for comfort? Is his relationship with Ryan only onscreen, or is there something more between the two leading men? Or is Parker really the star of Declan's heart?

Excerpt:

"You," Jarrett hisses.

Dylan looks at him, feeling helpless at Jarrett's enraged voice mixed with fear. Dylan bends down to pick up a shirt and jeans from the floor and hands them over. Jarrett snatches them from Dylan's hand.

"Yes, it's me. Dylan."

"Dylan Scott." Jarrett gets dressed, but his eyes never leave Dylan. "What are you? I didn't see you come in."

Dylan pauses. "I-I saw you from the window."

"From the window -- you were watching me?"

"Not really. I..." He's not lying. He was totally going to leave until he heard Jarrett's cry for help.

Jarrett doesn't seem to be listening, eyes turning big with suspicion.

"The window was locked... There's no broken glass..." Suddenly, Jarrett dashes toward the door, but Dylan is faster, of course.

He grabs Jarrett gently. "Relax," he murmurs in Jarrett's ear.

"Please don't hurt me," Jarrett pleads, his body trembling.

Dylan releases him at once. "I won't. All I want is to protect you."

Jarrett gazes up at him. "Why? I'm a complete stranger."

"I had you in my hand," Dylan said, and Jarrett's face turns crimson and turns away.

"It doesn't mean anything."

"Doesn't it?" Dylan asks, and he frowns when Jarrett gathers a watch and set of keys from the nightstand.

"Where are you going?"

"Home," Jarrett says simply.

"Huh? I thought this was your apartment."

"Like I want to let a scumbag like him into my place?" Jarrett sneers, nodding at Jeff who's still lying on the floor unconscious. "What are you going to do to him? You going to kill him?"

"I don't go around killing people, if that's what you're asking."

"Then what? What do you do? How did you find me?" Jarrett squints up at him. "Are you one of those superheroes? But you're not wearing a cape or a mask." Jarrett giggles. "Listen to me. I must sound nuts."

Dylan smiles a little. "No, you don't. I'll tell you all about me later. Right now, let me make sure you get home safely."

Jarrett steps back. "Uh no, thank you. I'll drive. I don't want to fly or anything."

The Inkslingers Sweet Retweet Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog post for The Inkslinger Sweet Retweet Blog Hop and thank you for Joleen Naylor for hosting it. In this sweet month of February, I'd like to share with you my short stories that will be released in this month. The first is What Lies Beneath from Torquere Press, and the second is My Bloody Valentine, a Valentine Day's anthology from Breathless Press with my story in it.

Excerpt:

Dylan's hand shakes a little as he dips it into the bucket of chocolate and begins spreading it on Jarrett's skin. It feels smooth and soft but with an unyielding hardness beneath it. Dylan rubs his hand slowly over Jarrett's hardening nipples, eliciting a small moan from Jarrett, making Dylan blush. He can hear the catcalls from the crowd, but it's like they're coming from somewhere else, as if he and Jarrett are completely alone.

Dylan dips his hand into the chocolate again and looks up at Jarrett, wordlessly asking for permission. There's only one part he hasn't done yet, and that's-- Jarrett's breathing seems to get heavier. And it hitches when Dylan finally lays his hand on him.

Sweat breaks on Dylan's forehead, and his hand seems to move of its own volition, pushing the tiny Speedo aside, exposing Jarrett, stroking and flicking, feeling the warmth of Jarrett, adoring how strong and solid he is, worshipping him.

Excerpt:

Huh? Aleich wheezed as his flight was utterly ruined. He was snared. Fine threads of spiderweb were all over his body, winding around his ankles and wrists, stretching his limbs, and impeding all movement or chance to flee. It felt as though the strands were alive, groping intimately over his face and tightening seductively around his waist.
Aleich was frantic as he heard Ghaelt, the eight-legged beast, inch toward him. He tried to twist around, but his attempts only made the bonds tighter. Aleich's feet barely touched the ground, hampering his attempt to kick around the spot where he thought his belongings lay. He had never felt so helpless and exposed—when even glancing to his sides was impossible.
